Know where I stand on the issues.
I want to make Georgia safe for all citizens by addressing issues related to drug abuse, tougher sentencing guidelines for criminals, and continued reforms within the criminal justice system.
In order for Georgia to remain the #1 State for Business, we must continue to work towards the highest standard of education. I will work with local and state leadership to develop the opportunities needed to equip students with the education and skills that are vital to the enhancement of the manufacturing industry within our state.
I want to work to improve Georgia's infrastructure, bringing it to an acceptable level that would provide citizens with the necessary services needed to maintain our current way of life. I will work to insure a sustainable future with clear economic, social, and environmental benefits. I will focus on the necessary steps needed during severe weather and other catastrophic events with an emphasis on proactive-protective measures and emergency response plans. I will focus on closing the “digital divide” that exists between rural and urban areas when it comes to broadband access in Georgia.
Positive job growth must be a priority along with policies that encourage innovation, skills training, and business development. I will support initiatives directed at developing strong relationships between community stakeholders and state officials who are tasked with creating new job opportunities and developing a skilled labor force.
I want to focus on developing integrated approaches to economic development by working with business leaders and local leadership to maximize employment opportunities, and develop methods for tackling generational poverty and high unemployment rates within District 29.

READ A BIT MORE ABOUT ME!
I am a 30-and-a-half year law enforcement veteran, retiring from the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office in 2015 with training and assignments that range from undercover narcotics investigations to serving as the Director of Homeland Security for Columbus, Georgia. I attended the Command College at Columbus State University, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. I had the pleasure of serving the citizens of Mississippi immediately following Hurricane Katrina and assisted in bringing the C.E.R.T. program from Los Angeles, California to Columbus, Georgia. I am active in the Fraternal Order of Police and currently serves as the President of the FOP Georgia State Lodge.
Actively involved in civic and political issues for nearly three decades, I have sought to create a safer community during my career as a Law Enforcement Officer with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office. While Public Safety is an issue that is near and dear to my heart, I am also committed to strengthening our infrastructure, striving for excellence in education, and creating and developing an environment that encourages entrepreneurship and small businesses to thrive.
My wife and I have been prayerfully considering how we can best serve our neighbors, our community, and our region at large. With the announcement of an open State Senate seat in district 29, we strongly believe this is the answer we have been seeking.
I am married to my amazing wife, Theresa Garcia Robertson. We have two children and one granddaughter. We are members of First Baptist Church in Columbus and reside in Cataula, Georgia.
